Asian lettuce Namenia

Mizuna is a leafy green that forms rosettes of finely cut, tender leaves. It has a mild, slightly peppery flavor reminiscent of turnip greens and is perfect for fresh salads or cooked like spinach in soups and hot dishes.

Sowing Mizuna

• Direct sow in rows spaced 30 cm apart

• Sowing periods: March–April and mid-July to late September

• Thin seedlings to 5 cm apart

Sowing is also possible at the end of winter under cover. Mizuna is suitable for container growing, window boxes, and small gardens.

Growing Mizuna

• Keep soil moist and cool

• Harvest until the first severe frost

• Avoid high temperatures, as they promote flowering and seed formation

Harvesting Mizuna

• Leaves can be harvested when 10–20 cm tall

• Keep the plant heart intact to allow multiple harvests

• Best harvested young, after 6–8 weeks of growth
