Lavandula angustifolia munstead, small dwarf lavender bush that is considered by many to be one of the best species. It grows fairly compact and wider than high, is quite low-lying and blooms from June to the end of August with beautiful scented violet blue flowers. The leaves are grey to grey-green and aromatic. This lavender species likes a sunny pitch in neutral to chalky soil. Pruning is necessary every year to prevent the plant from being wooded. Lavandula angustifolia is well hardy, can withstand sea breezes and air pollution and is often used for rock gardens, soil cover, herb garden, scent garden, specialist planting and flower boxes. Also lures butterflies and bees.
