Product description

Vitex agnus castus latifolia is a small deciduous aromatic tree or shrub from southern Europe, which is usually called "monks' pepper" in Dutch. This plant has an open and wide spread growth form, grey-green lancet-shaped leaves with five to nine sub leaves and a fluffy underside. From the end of August to October, this aromatic sistle flower blooms with fragrant purple flowers, budding from grey-white flower buds. Vitex agnus castus latifolia likes a pitch in full sun, preferably sheltered from cold north-easterly winds. The plant does well in almost every type of soil, even in very poor soils. This vitex is fairly hardy and moderately sea-wind tolerant, air pollution resistant, disease- and pest-free and particularly aromatic in all parts.

Pruning period: Not much pruning needed, dead and sick wood removal, eventally shortening the branches of last year.
