Product description

Tilia cordata, the Small-leaved Lime, is a moderately large tree that can grow up to 20 metres high and 15 metres wide. The Small-leaved Lime is a rounded cone-shaped tree with landscape value that was formerly very often used as an espalier. The leaves are 3 to 6 cm, dark green, serrated and heart-shaped at the base. Tilia cordata flowers in June - July. The sweet-smelling, yellow, upright flower owls attract bees. After flowering, small round fruits with a wing appear. Tilia cordata prefers a sunny position and does well in every soil, tolerant of air pollution and sea wind.

The Small-leaved Lime is very suitable as a medium-high tree to create a lot of shade, which is not unimportant during hot summer months. Not only can the Small-leaved Lime be planted solitarily, but it also functions perfectly in a wooded bank or a landscape hedge. The Small-leaved Lime is an indigenous tree that provides a natural balance to your garden. Tilia cordata attracts many butterflies and all sorts of insects thanks to its lush and well-scented blooms in June/July. The small-leaved lime tree is also often used as an espalier. Thus, it can also be planted in smaller gardens.

This indigenous tree needs pruning only once a year and is also very hardy.
