Product description

Stipa tenuifolia, syn. Stipa tenuissima 'Ponytails' is a particularly elegant ornamental grass with a compact leaf pile and graceful inflorescence. The leaves are narrow linear, medium green and turn straw-yellow in autumn. This feather-grass blooms from June to August with fluffy, almost silky silvery-green flower panicles that turn beige-brown as the seed matures. Stipa tenuifolia 'Ponytails' prefers a position in full sun and a moderately fertile, well-drained soil. Stipa tenuissima is very hardy, also tolerates drought well, and is tolerant to sea wind and air pollution.
