Product description

The stem pea 'Kelvedon Wonder' is a sweet pea with crinkly seeds that grows as a compact bush and does not need mesh support. It is a very easy plant to grow, with few problems with diseases and pests. The length of the plant is about 70 cm.

You can pre-sow the seeds in February in a pot or seedbed and then plant them in March in the open ground at a distance of 50x5 cm. You can also sow directly in March or April in the open ground, also with a spacing of 50x5 cm. The harvest period is from June to July.

Peas require little fertiliser and can be grown without support. However, it is useful to use a short mesh for easy harvesting and to prevent the pods from falling to the ground. Stem types have a row spacing of 50 cm, with a distance of 5 cm between seeds in the row.

To prevent birds and mice from eating the seeds, it is advisable to sow them 3 to 4 cm deep. For best results, it is best to sow peas early, in March or April. Sowing later often causes problems with mildew and insufficient pod setting.
