Fodder radish is a three-in-one crop. Firstly, it is a fast-growing, deep-rooting green manure crop, growing to a height of 80 to 110 cm. With its thick taproots it makes the soil airy and permeable. When the crop is worked under, a lot of organic matter is added to the soil. The plant is therefore a soil improver in all respects.

The crop develops rapidly after sowing. This suppresses weeds in a short time. That is a second important role for this crop. Foliage radish is also excellent for the design of cyst nematodes and root knot nematodes.

Fodder radish can be sown in the spring and autumn. For beet cyst nematode control sow in spring. When the crop is three-quarters in bloom, it should be cut back at a height of 25-30 cm. The plants will then sprout again. This is called stubble sowing.
