Product description

Discover the beauty of Pyrus communis 'Bonne Louise d'avranches', a rare French pear variety from 1778. Grafted by Longueval of Avranches and named after his wife Louise, this tree impresses with a steep pyramid shape and a sturdy heart branch. Enjoy the glossy, oval leaves that take on a mid-green hue in summer. In April, this pear blooms with beautiful white flowers emerging from pink buds. Unfortunately, this pear is not self-pollinating and needs other pollinators, such as Conférence, Clapp's Favourite or Doyenné du Comice, to produce fruit. The fruit is medium-sized, regular, cone-shaped, greenish yellow with a crimson blush on the sunny side and has a fine aroma, a pleasant sweet-sour flavour and melting white flesh.
