Crataegus monogyna single-stemmed hawthorn that can grow 6 to 9 m high and 4 to 7 m wide. Deciduous, very floriferous with single, fragrant, white flowers in spring, followed by a mass of egg-shaped red berries. Good landscape value, reasonably sea wind resistant. Also tolerates paving reasonably well and therefore useful for street planting. Prefers a sunny spot, semi-shade is also possible and does well in almost any type of soil. Highly appreciated by numerous bird species.
