Lavandula intermedia 'edelweiss' is a hybrid lavender bush, it is a cross between l.angustifolia and l.latifolia . It grows a bit higher than the angustifolia varieties and is grown in france for its oil. From July to September it blooms with beautiful fragrant white flowers with sometimes in cold weather a blue-pink hint. The leaves are silvery grey, oval and aromatic. This lavender strain likes a sunny location in a not too rich, well-drained soil. Pruning is necessary every year to prevent wooding of the plant. Lavandula intermedia 'edelweiss' is fairly hardy, can withstand sea breezes and air pollution and is often used for rock gardens, ground cover, herb garden, fragrance garden, professional planting and flower boxes. Also lures butterflies and bees.
