Product description

Helleborus niger, also called Christmas rose, is a semi-evergreen perennial with a compact clump forming habit and dark green, leathery, serrated leaves of up to 20cm long with five to nine broad leaflets. The Christmas rose blooms from January to April with greenish-white flowers that later turn pink. This helleborine prefers a position in the semi-shade, but also does well in full shade under tall trees. It prefers a permeable, neutral or alkaline soil, but will also tolerate a slightly acidic soil. This plant is reasonably hardy, but in severe winters it does appreciate some winter protection.
