Product description

Hedera hibernica, known as the Irish or Atlantic ivy, is a lush evergreen shrub that is versatile in its use as a climber or groundcover. With its generous medium-green leaves that range from oval to heart-shaped, and small flowers in soft yellow-green clusters that stand proudly upright, this plant offers an enchanting display. During the flowering period from July to September, these flowers are followed by modest blue-black berries.

Hedera helix 'hibernica' thrives in sunny areas as well as in partial or even complete shade. This plant has few soil type requirements and shows admirable winter hardiness - even more than the common Hedera helix. As a result, it is often used as a durable ground cover and for beautiful arrangements in garden beds. Remarkably, this Hedera variety remains fairly undisturbed in seaward environments and is also resistant to air pollution, adapting to diverse locations.

This Hedera is known as a welcoming oasis for bees, making it a valuable plant for supporting bee populations.
