Gaura lindheimeri "Whirling Butterflies" is a perennial with a bushy ascending growth and a polforming habitus. This beautiful candle has attractive narrow lancet-shaped, dark green leaves and blooms from July to the end of October with white butterfly-like flowers whose petals are attractively tinted pinkish white. Gaura lindheimeri does well in any permeable soil that is not too wet in winter. The plant is fairly hardy, good sea breeze and air pollution tolerant. Lends itself well to a sunny border, wild garden or in combination with grasses.
