What are pheromones?
Pheromones are signaling substances that are exchanged between individuals of the same species to influence their behavior. There is a wide variety of pheromones. For example, there are sexual pheromones that attract males to females over long distances. This property can be used to catch harmful insects. Pheromones are very species-specific. The duration of action of pheromone depends on its composition, quantity, concentration and climate.

When to place pheromone traps?
The pheromone capsule Grapholita funebrana is used to catch the male plum moths using a delta trap. Start hanging from mid-April, in mild weather you can start even earlier. Replace the capsules after six weeks. The pheromone capsule is active for 6 weeks (4 weeks in hot weather). With late plum varieties you need an extra pheromone capsule. This is to be able to bridge the flights of the moths in August/ September.

How to place the pheromone capsule?
You can place the pheromone capsule directly in the center of the adhesive plate or in the supplied pheromone basket attached to the top of the trap. The two processes are the same.
