Fargesia murieliae 'rufa' is a fairly new introduction from china, it is a decorative , very hardy, medium bamboo with a powerful and bushy upright, non-invasive habitus. The leaves are small and graceful, light green the halls are reddish and hang slightly over. This bamboo likes a pitch in the semi-shade, shade or sun and a fresh, well-permeable, airy and fertile soil. Fargesia murieliae 'rufa' is very hardy, tolerates reasonable drought and is disease and pest free. It is a suitable bamboo to serve as a hedge plant, windshield or terrace plant (tub plant).
