Calamintha nepeta ssp. nepeta or mountain stone thyme is a deciduous aromatic perennial with a bushy, wide habitus. The leaves are grey-green, aromatic, finely trimmed, egg-shaped and about 3 cm in size. From July to September, this mountain tide blooms in a loose airy manner with purple-pink to lilac blue flowers grouped in bunches of 15 flowers. This plant likes a pitch in full sun or semi-shade and does well in almost any permeable soil. Calamintha nepeta is well hardy, sea breeze tolerant, tolerates good air pollution.
