Product description

Chioggia' beetroot is an old variety from the Italian town of Chioggia. The flesh of the Chioggia has beautiful red and white rings and a soft sweet taste. This variety gives a good yield and beautiful large heads.

With a greenhouse crop you can sow beets in February and March.
Sowing: from April till July. For storage the second half of May is the best sowing period. Sow at 30 cm between rows, later thin out at 7 to 10 cm, do not transplant.
Harvest: With early sowing from mid July until the end of September. For storage pull up the turnips in the late autumn - until approximately mid November - before the frost. Twist off the foliage and bury in sand in a frost-free place.
