Combining with other mixes

For larger areas, this mix can be combined with the Poultry Meadow Mix, creating a stronger grass sward that is more resistant to trampling.

Use

Sow from April to October in a sunny location or an area with sufficient light. Keep the soil regularly moist after sowing.

Prepare the seedbed well and protect the sown area temporarily with fine mesh, allowing the plants to establish before giving poultry access.

Once established, poultry can graze freely. Using mesh with larger openings helps protect the roots while allowing regrowth. Poultry forage selectively and usually do not consume plants completely.

Maintenance

• Improve soil health with soil conditioners such as lava meal and compost

• This improves soil structure, nutrient availability and moisture retention

• Occasional mowing or trimming helps less dominant species to thrive
