Cultivation advice for growing zucchini
To speed up fruiting and prevent damage from snails, it's best to sow zucchini in pots at a temperature of 20°C, starting from March or April. Plant the seedlings in the ground after the last frost, around mid-May, with a spacing of 1 meter between plants. For trailing varieties, aim for 2 meters of space. Plant them in small holes filled with compost for a good start.

In addition to plenty of sunlight, zucchini requires soil rich in organic matter. During dry periods, it is essential to water regularly and abundantly at the base of the plants. Zucchini can also be sown directly in the ground in May, but note that the harvest will be later, and the yield may be smaller.

Harvest advice for zucchini
For better storage, it is recommended to harvest zucchini when fully ripe. This is when the skin is hard to pierce with a nail, and the stem is firm and matured. Cut the zucchini as close to the stem as possible for the best storage quality.

Tip for sowing zucchini seeds
Zucchini seeds need warmth (around 20-22°C) to germinate quickly, usually within 5 days. Also, make sure not to overwater them, as excess moisture can cause seedling rot.
