Tulipa 'Saxatilis' - organic flower bulb

Tulipa saxatilis – elegant botanical tulip

Tulipa saxatilis is a beautiful botanical tulip with a natural and elegant appearance. In spring, it produces graceful soft pink flowers with a striking yellow centre. In sunny weather, the flowers open fully, creating a beautiful splash of colour in the garden.

Growing to approximately 20 cm tall, Tulipa saxatilis remains compact. It is therefore ideal for the front of borders, rock gardens, among perennials and ornamental grasses, as well as in pots and containers. Its natural character also makes it particularly suitable for naturalising.

🌷 A tulip that can return year after year

Tulipa saxatilis generally flowers in April and May. The pink flowers with their yellow centres create an attractive contrast with the green foliage and look especially beautiful when planted in groups.

One of the great advantages of this botanical tulip is that, under suitable conditions, it can return for several years. Allow the foliage to die back naturally after flowering so that the bulb can store enough nutrients for the following season.

Tulipa saxatilis is therefore an excellent choice for a natural, low-maintenance and colourful spring garden.

🌱 Planting advice

Plant the bulbs in autumn, from September to December, as long as the soil is frost-free. Choose a sunny to partially shaded position with well-drained soil. A sunny location that does not remain too wet is ideal.

Plant the bulbs approximately 8–10 cm deep, with around 8–10 cm between each bulb. For a natural effect, plant the bulbs in small groups.
