Teton de Wepion is a powerful and productive Belgian tomato variety that produces fleshy, round yellow fruits with a small nipple. The fruits have a pleasant taste with low acidity.

It is a mid-season, indeterminate variety, suitable for open field or greenhouse cultivation.

Sowing and Transplanting

• Sow seeds at 20–24°C from mid-February to late March/early April

• Transplant 6–8 weeks later when seedlings have 2–4 leaves

• Keep seedlings warm (15–20°C) during potting

• Plant at 50 x 80 cm spacing

• After April 15, grow under glass or outdoors after the last frost

Cultivation and Maintenance

• Bury most of the stem at planting to promote strong root development

• Requires warmth and organic fertilization, especially potassium (K)

• In northern regions, prune lightly to prevent leaves from touching the ground

• Water regularly without wetting the foliage

• Preventive spraying: nettle liquid, horsetail decoction, or powdered seaweed (lithothamne)

• Indeterminate varieties: remove suckers in leaf axils

• Determinate/bushy varieties: do not prune, mulch and support instead

• Pur’Mel 3 fertilizer: 10% diluted for prevention; 30% for powdery mildew (spray twice weekly until disease subsides)

Harvest

The Teton de Wepion is a mid-season variety, ready for harvest approximately 2.5 months after planting. Ripe tomatoes detach easily from the plant.
