This traditional pumpkin variety from Central France is a runner type. It matures early and thrives in cooler, wetter climates, producing pear-shaped fruits.

• Skin: smooth, dark green, turning straw-yellow to ochre when ripe

• Flesh: light orange, tender, sweet, aromatic, and high quality

• Uses: perfect for puree, gratins, soups, pies, tarts, and jam

Cultivation Tips

• Sowing: start indoors at 20°C from March-April to accelerate fruit set and reduce slug damage

• Transplanting: plant outdoors after the last frost (around May 15)

• Spacing: 1 m for compact varieties, up to 2 m for runner types

• Soil: rich in organic matter

• Watering: regular and abundant watering during dry periods

• Direct sowing: possible in May, but yields will be smaller

• Harvesting: harvest ripe for longer storage; the skin should resist nail pressure, and the stem should be hardened. Cut close to the stem.
