Punica granatum 'Uniqa' - Pomegranate - Organic fruit

Punica granatum 'Uniqa' – Dwarf Pomegranate

Punica granatum 'Uniqa' is a remarkably compact and floriferous dwarf pomegranate. It reaches a maximum height and width of approximately 40 cm, making it ideal for containers, patios, balconies and sunny borders.

Its main attraction is its spectacular bright orange-red flowers, which appear over a long flowering period.

❤️ Compact dwarf form

Unlike the common pomegranate, 'Uniqa' remains very compact, reaching only around 40 cm in height and width.

This makes it particularly suitable for small gardens, borders, rock gardens, containers, patios and balconies.

🌺 Bright orange-red flowers

The main ornamental feature of 'Uniqa' is its abundant flowering. The plant produces striking bright orange-red flowers which contrast beautifully with the green foliage.

Flowering can continue from June to September, especially in a warm and sunny position.

🍎 Decorative fruits

Small decorative pomegranate-like fruits may develop after flowering. With 'Uniqa', these are ornamental and not edible.

The main value of this cultivar is therefore its spectacular flowering and compact growth, rather than fruit production.

☀️ Loves sun and warmth

For the best flowering, place 'Uniqa' in a sunny, warm and sheltered position.

A warm wall or sheltered patio is ideal.

The soil should be well drained, particularly during winter.

🪴 Perfect for containers

Its compact size makes this dwarf pomegranate an excellent container plant.

❄️ Winter protection

'Uniqa' is not fully hardy in colder climates and tolerates temperatures down to approximately -8 °C. Protection is recommended during severe or prolonged frost.

Container-grown plants can be overwintered in a bright, cool and frost-free location.
