Phillyrea angustifolia 'Green line' 30-40 cm

Phillyrea angustifolia ‘Green Line’ – Narrow-leaved Phillyrea

Phillyrea angustifolia ‘Green Line’ is a strong, evergreen shrub with an elegant and natural appearance. It forms a compact, upright shrub with narrow, dark green leaves that remain on the plant throughout the year. This makes it an excellent choice for adding structure and greenery to the garden, even during winter.

‘Green Line’ is ideal for anyone looking for an evergreen, low-maintenance and drought-tolerant plant. Its natural appearance makes it particularly suitable for modern, Mediterranean and naturalistic gardens.

🌿 Evergreen and elegant

The narrow, leathery leaves give Phillyrea angustifolia ‘Green Line’ a refined appearance. The dark green foliage provides a calm backdrop for perennials and ornamental grasses while adding structure throughout the winter months.

Thanks to its compact and upright growth, the plant can be used both as a specimen and in groups. It also works very well as a hedge or informal green screen.

☀️ Strong and drought tolerant

Phillyrea angustifolia originates from the Mediterranean region and is therefore well adapted to warm and dry conditions. Once established, the plant can tolerate extended periods of drought very well.

A sunny position and well-drained soil provide the best growing conditions. Good drainage is particularly important in heavy or wet soils.

🌸 Small flowers and berries

Small, inconspicuous whitish flowers appear in spring. Although the flowering is subtle, the flowers are of interest to insects. Small dark-coloured berries may develop after flowering.

The main ornamental value of ‘Green Line’, however, lies in its evergreen dark green foliage, elegant growth habit and strong character.

🌱 Versatile in the garden

Phillyrea angustifolia ‘Green Line’ combines easily with other plants and suits a wide range of garden styles. It works beautifully in a Mediterranean border with lavender and rosemary, but is equally attractive in naturalistic planting with ornamental grasses and perennials.

The plant is suitable for:

• naturalistic and wildlife-friendly gardens

• Mediterranean planting

• modern gardens

• dry and sunny borders

• evergreen hedges

• informal screens

• specimen planting

• pots and large planters

✂️ Pruning and care

Phillyrea angustifolia ‘Green Line’ naturally develops a well-branched shape and requires little maintenance. If desired, the plant can be lightly pruned in spring or after flowering to maintain its shape.

Thanks to its steady growth and evergreen character, it can provide structure in the garden for many years with minimal care.
