Growing Advice

Sowing

• Sow indoors at 20°C in pots, March–April (promotes fruit set and limits slug damage)

• Direct sowing in the ground in May possible, but harvest is later and yield lower

• After the last frost (~May 15), transplant with 1 m spacing, up to 2 m for sprawling varieties

• Fill planting holes with compost

• Soil: rich in organic matter, well-draining
