Golden Delight Tomato

The Délice d’Or is an early tomato variety with determinate growth (bushy). It produces round, medium-sized yellow-orange tomatoes with meaty flesh and a mild, sweet taste. This variety has good crack resistance and is perfect for fresh consumption or light processing.

Cultivation Tips for Délice d’Or

Sowing: Sow seeds at 20–22°C from mid-February to late March. Transplant seedlings with 2–4 leaves into pots at 15–20°C. Later plant outdoors or in a greenhouse at 50 x 80 cm after the last frost. In northern regions, greenhouse planting is ideal, but sunny, well-ventilated outdoor areas work as well, walls provide extra protection.

Pruning: For indeterminate tomatoes, prune shoots in the leaf axils to encourage high-quality fruit. Bushy or determinate varieties do not require pruning; use mulch and stakes.

Care and Disease Prevention

• Tomatoes need warmth and organic nutrients, especially potassium (K).

• Bury most of the stem when planting to encourage root development.

• Light pruning in northern areas to prevent leaves touching the soil.

• Water regularly (approx. 1.5 L/plant, 2x/week) without wetting the foliage.

• Preventively spray with nettle extract, purine, or horsetail decoction; seaweed powder (lithotham) can also help.

• Pur’Mel 3 fertilizer: 10% dilution for prevention, spray every 2 weeks; in case of mildew 30% dilution twice weekly until resolved.

Harvest

Early tomatoes like Délice d’Or are ready from late June. Ripe tomatoes easily detach from the plant.
