Gladiolus ‘Bunga’ – sustainably grown gladiolus

Gladiolus ‘Bunga’ is a vigorous, large-flowered gladiolus and a true highlight of the summer and early autumn garden. This richly flowering variety blooms from summer well into autumn and reaches a height of around 130 cm. Its attractive colour and strong flower stems make it a striking feature in borders and cutting gardens alike.

‘Bunga’ is also an excellent cut flower, producing long, sturdy stems and large blooms with excellent vase life. It is therefore highly recommended to plant a row in the cutting garden. Thanks to its abundant flowering, this sustainably grown gladiolus is an essential addition to the summer flower garden.

Planting:
Plant the corms in spring, about 7–10 cm deep. Loosen the soil thoroughly and add a layer of sharp sand at the bottom of the planting hole to ensure good drainage. Space the corms 10–12 cm apart. Improve heavy clay soils by mixing in sharp sand.

Position & combinations:
Prefers a warm, sunny position and well-drained, fertile soil. Combines beautifully with tall perennials, ornamental grasses and dahlias. For best results, rotate planting locations annually.

As a cut flower:
Harvest when the lowest flower starts to open, preferably early in the morning. Place stems immediately in a vase with lukewarm water and add flower food.
