BIO Galanthus ‘Polar Bear’ – early flowering snowdrop

BIO Galanthus ‘Polar Bear’ is a beautiful organically grown snowdrop that brings life and colour to the garden very early in the year. Its pure white flowers usually appear from February to March, often when much of the garden is still dormant.

Growing to approximately 20 cm tall, ‘Polar Bear’ is a striking snowdrop that looks particularly beautiful when planted in groups. The white flowers create an attractive contrast with the darker winter soil and fresh green foliage.

🌱 An early source of food for pollinators

Snowdrops are among the first flowers to bloom each year and are therefore particularly valuable to early bees and other pollinators. Galanthus ‘Polar Bear’ is also excellent for naturalising. Once established, it can gradually spread and return every spring.

Plant the bulbs beneath deciduous trees and shrubs, along hedges, in natural borders or in lawns. The early snowdrop also looks beautiful in pots and containers.

🌿 Position and care

Galanthus ‘Polar Bear’ grows well in a sunny to lightly shaded position in well-drained soil. A soil that remains sufficiently moist during the growing season is ideal, although prolonged waterlogging should be avoided.

Plant the bulbs in autumn, from September to December, approximately 5 cm deep and 5–10 cm apart. For a natural effect, plant the bulbs in groups. Allow the foliage to die back naturally after flowering so that the bulbs can store sufficient energy for the following year.
