Product description

Ficus carica ‘Little Miss Figgy’ BIO – Compact Fig Tree

Ficus carica ‘Little Miss Figgy’ BIO is a particularly compact fig tree that is ideal for small gardens, terraces and containers. Unlike the common fig tree, this cultivar remains much more compact and generally reaches around 90–120 cm in height, depending on growing conditions and cultivation.

Despite its compact size, ‘Little Miss Figgy’ produces a surprisingly good crop of sweet, burgundy-red to dark-purple figs. Its deeply lobed, dark-green foliage also gives the plant a beautiful Mediterranean appearance.

🍈 Compact yet productive

‘Little Miss Figgy’ combines a compact growth habit with good fruit production. The edible figs develop a dark colour as they ripen and have a deliciously sweet flavour.

The first fruits can ripen from August, with harvesting potentially continuing into late summer or early autumn, depending on the weather and growing conditions.

The figs are delicious fresh from the tree, but can also be used in desserts, salads, jams and other dishes.

☀️ Ideal in a sunny, sheltered position

For good growth and maximum fruit production, Ficus carica ‘Little Miss Figgy’ prefers full sun. A warm, sheltered position is ideal. A south- or west-facing wall can provide additional warmth and help the fruits ripen more successfully.

The soil should be well drained. Once established, figs tolerate dry conditions well, but prolonged waterlogging should be avoided.

🪴 Perfect for pots and small gardens

Thanks to its compact growth, ‘Little Miss Figgy’ is particularly suitable for pots, tubs and large planters. This makes it possible to enjoy home-grown figs even on a terrace or balcony.

A restricted root area can also help keep the plant compact and may encourage fruit production. When growing in a container, always ensure good drainage.

🌱 Organically grown

This Ficus carica ‘Little Miss Figgy’ is organically grown. A great choice for anyone who wants to grow their own fruit while consciously choosing a plant cultivated with attention to nature and soil health.

❄️ Hardiness

‘Little Miss Figgy’ is one of the more compact and relatively hardy fig cultivars. Exact hardiness depends on the position, age of the plant and winter conditions. In a sheltered position in the ground, the plant can tolerate considerable frost, but young plants should be protected during severe or prolonged frost.

Container-grown figs are more sensitive to freezing temperatures because the roots are less protected. During severe winter weather, place the pot in a sheltered position or protect the container well.

✂️ Pruning

Due to its compact growth, ‘Little Miss Figgy’ generally requires little pruning. If necessary, prune in winter or early spring to maintain the desired shape and size. Avoid heavy pruning, as this can reduce fruit production.
