Cosmos Sensation Picotée

Cosmos Sensation Picotée is an annual ornamental flower with feathery foliage and daisy-shaped blooms in white or light pink with a striking magenta pink edge. These decorative summer flowers are perfect for borders, cottage gardens, and as cut flowers. They provide a long-lasting summer bloom, are nectar-rich, and both flowers and young leaves are edible. Not winter-hardy. Height: up to 120 cm.

Cultivation Tips

Seedlings:

• Sow indoors from March to April at a minimum of 20°C in seed or cutting soil

• Transplant into separate pots when seedlings have 4 leaves

• Direct sow outdoors from April to May; thin to 40 cm between plants and 80 cm between rows

Location and soil:

• Sunny spot with light, humus-rich soil

• Support needed in windy areas

Maintenance:

• Moderate watering daily

• Generally disease-resistant

Use and Harvest

• Edible: flowers and young leaves enhance salads with a delicate rose scent

• Cut flower: ideal for bouquets and decoration

• Seed harvesting: wait until flowers are brown and dry, collect seeds in a bucket. Note: birds love cosmos seeds
