Coreopsis Rosea 'American Dream' - Organic perennial

Coreopsis rosea 'American Dream' – Pink Tickseed

Coreopsis rosea 'American Dream', commonly known as pink tickseed, is a charming, floriferous perennial with attractive soft pink to bright pink flowers and darker pink centres.

The flowers appear over a long period during summer, creating a cheerful and airy display. This compact Coreopsis is ideal for sunny borders, rock gardens, prairie-style planting and naturalistic gardens. Its flowers are also attractive to bees, butterflies and other pollinating insects.

Long flowering period

One of the main features of Coreopsis rosea 'American Dream' is its long flowering season. From approximately June to September, numerous flowers appear above the fine foliage.

Regularly removing faded flowers can encourage further flowering and keep the plant looking attractive for longer.

Compact growth

'American Dream' forms a low, compact and branching clump, making it particularly suitable for the front of borders and smaller gardens.

The fine foliage gives the plant a light and airy appearance and creates a beautiful contrast with ornamental grasses and plants with larger leaves.

Excellent for pollinators 🐝🦋

The flowers are attractive to bees, bumblebees, butterflies and other pollinating insects. Its long flowering period makes it a useful nectar plant throughout the summer.

Position and soil

Plant in full sun for the best flowering. Coreopsis prefers warmth and plenty of sunlight.

A well-drained, moderately dry to average soil is ideal. Avoid permanently wet conditions, especially during winter.

Once established, the plant tolerates periods of drought reasonably well.

Easy to maintain

Coreopsis 'American Dream' is an easy-care perennial. Deadhead regularly during the flowering season to encourage additional blooms.

Cut back the old stems after flowering or leave some seed heads standing for additional autumn and winter structure.
