Growing Tips for Merveille des Marchés Tomatoes

Sowing:

• Mid-February to late March–early April at 20–24°C.

• Sow in a warm, light, and humid environment; lightly mist regularly.

Transplanting:

• Move seedlings with 2–4 leaves into pots at 15–20°C.

• Plant at 50 x 80 cm spacing in open ground after April 15 (under glass) or after the last frost outdoors.

Maintenance:

• Indeterminate: prune lateral shoots in leaf axils for quality fruit.

• Determinate: no pruning; use mulch and support.

• Soil rich in organic matter, especially potassium (K). Bury part of the stem to enhance root development.

• In northern regions: light pruning to prevent leaves touching the ground.

• Water regularly without wetting foliage.

Disease Prevention:

• Prevent powdery mildew with nettle or horsetail tea sprays.

• Seaweed powder (lithothamne) can help.
