Cut lettuce ‘Lollo Rossa’

Cut lettuce is an easy-to-grow leafy vegetable suitable for year-round cultivation. With proper care, you can harvest from February to September.

Sowing cut lettuce

• Under cover: February–March

• In open ground: after the last frost until September

• In nursery trays: sow and transplant after 4 weeks at 30 cm spacing, when plants have 4–5 leaves

• Direct sowing in the field: thin to 10 cm, later to 30 cm

Cut lettuce prefers sunny locations, well-fertilized soil, fresh soil, and regular watering during dry periods.
Sow every 3 weeks from February to September for continuous harvest.

Care and disease prevention

• Keep soil moist with mulching

• Water regularly in dry conditions

• Protect from slugs

Harvesting

• Harvest 4–8 weeks after sowing, depending on the variety

• Cut leaves when they reach about 15 cm, leaving the heart intact for regrowth
